1,000 Cranes Peace Project

Thursday, December 7
5:30 – 7:30 PM
Saturday, December 9
2:00 – 4:00 PM

The Hailey Public Library invites the community to participate in a valley-wide project to create 1,000 Origami cranes. The project hopes to promote peace in the world by gathering people together in a collective project with a heartfelt message. Cranes are a traditional symbol of peace in many nations.

Two facilitated, 2-hour workshops will be held at Town Center West. All materials are provided. Each workshop begins with a short loving kindness meditation followed by a lesson in folding Origami cranes. Participants are invited to take their new skills and Origami paper home and fold more cranes with family and friends. Finished cranes will be gathered on December 18 at HPL and hung in the library on the Winter Solstice, December 21. They will remain on display for a month.
